Savoleyres Piste Map and Overview
Savoleyres is a sunny, scenic ski sector above Verbier and La Tzoumaz, forming part of the massive 4 Vallées ski region in the Valais. It sits on a wide, open ridge that offers some of the best panoramic views in the area — especially across the Rhône Valley and towards the Mont Blanc massif. Unlike the steeper, high-alpine terrain of Verbier’s main peaks, Savoleyres is known for its smoother, more relaxed skiing with long, flowing runs that feel natural and easy to enjoy. The area sits roughly between 1,500 m and 2,354 m, making it a mid-altitude zone that often enjoys good snow while still feeling bright and sunny.
What makes Savoleyres particularly appealing is its versatility. From the La Tzoumaz side, you get wide, forgiving slopes that are ideal for beginners and intermediate cruisers, while the Verbier-facing side offers longer descents with a bit more gradient and more engaging terrain for confident skiers. Snowboarders tend to enjoy the open pistes and the fun, flowing layout rather than steep technical challenges. It’s also a great “connector” area — linking La Tzoumaz and Verbier — meaning you can spend a full day exploring without it ever feeling repetitive.

Ski Season Length and Dates:
Savoleyres follows the Verbier / 4 Vallées ski calendar, typically running from early December through late April (sometimes extending slightly depending on snow conditions). Because it sits within a large high-altitude ski system, snow reliability is generally strong, especially on the higher connecting runs toward Verbier and Mont Fort.
Is it good for beginners?
Yes — Savoleyres is one of the better beginner-friendly sectors in the Verbier area. The La Tzoumaz side in particular has wide, gentle pistes that are perfect for learning without pressure or crowds. It’s often recommended for early progression skiing because the terrain is open, predictable, and less intimidating than Verbier’s steeper central slopes. However, beginners should still stick to marked blue runs, as some linking pistes can become more exposed or intermediate in nature.
