Kappl Piste Map and Overview
Located in Austria’s Paznaun Valley, just a few kilometres from the famous resort of Ischgl, Kappl offers a completely different skiing experience. Rather than busy slopes and lively après-ski scenes, Kappl focuses on uncrowded pistes, spectacular mountain scenery, and a family-friendly atmosphere. With more than 90% of its terrain above 1,800 metres, the resort enjoys excellent snow reliability throughout the winter season, while its wide, sunny slopes make it a favourite among intermediates and families looking for relaxed skiing.
What makes Kappl particularly appealing is the quality of its terrain. The resort features long cruising red runs, a vertical drop of more than 1,500 metres, and some surprisingly challenging black pistes for stronger skiers. Snowboarders benefit from wide-open slopes and a terrain park, while freeriders are drawn to the resort’s easily accessible powder fields. Many visitors also appreciate that Kappl offers a quieter and more affordable alternative to nearby Ischgl while still providing access to one of Austria’s best ski regions. Community feedback often highlights the resort’s peaceful atmosphere and excellent long top-to-bottom descents.
