Bergeralm Piste Map and Overview

Bergeralm is a compact but highly regarded ski resort in the Wipptal Valley of Tyrol, known for its modern lift system, excellent snowmaking, and relaxed atmosphere. Located near Steinach am Brenner, just south of Innsbruck, the resort offers a fantastic mix of scenic mountain views, well-groomed pistes, and reliable conditions throughout the winter season. While it may not be as internationally famous as Austria’s mega-resorts, Bergeralm is hugely popular with locals and families thanks to its uncrowded slopes and excellent value for money.

The ski area is especially well suited to intermediates and families, with wide cruising runs, varied terrain, and a friendly atmosphere that makes learning and progressing enjoyable. Snowboarders appreciate the natural flow of the mountain and the small freestyle areas, while more advanced skiers can enjoy steeper red and black descents higher up the mountain. Bergeralm is also known for its night skiing facilities, giving visitors the chance to ski under floodlights on selected evenings — a feature that adds to its appeal for short ski breaks and local winter trips.

Bergeralm usually operates from early December through early April, depending on snowfall and weather conditions. The resort has one of the strongest snowmaking systems in the region, helping maintain reliable skiing even during milder periods.

Is it good for beginners?

Yes — Bergeralm is a very good option for beginners and improving skiers. The resort has dedicated beginner areas, ski schools, and wide blue pistes that are ideal for learning. The quieter atmosphere compared to larger resorts also makes it much less intimidating for first-time skiers and snowboarders. As skills improve, learners can progress naturally onto the longer red runs across the mountain.
