Bad Hofgastein Piste Map and Overview

Located in the heart of Austria’s beautiful Gastein Valley, Bad Hofgastein is one of the region’s most popular ski resorts thanks to its combination of extensive skiing, modern lift systems, and relaxed alpine atmosphere. The resort offers direct access to the huge Schlossalm–Angertal–Stubnerkogel ski area, linking seamlessly with neighbouring Bad Gastein to create one of the largest and most varied ski domains in Ski amadé. Visitors can enjoy wide cruising pistes, long scenic descents, and excellent mountain restaurants, all set against the dramatic backdrop of the Hohe Tauern mountains. Compared with nearby Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein has a slightly gentler, more family-friendly feel while still providing access to challenging terrain for stronger skiers.

Bad Hofgastein is particularly well suited to intermediate skiers and snowboarders, with long red runs and perfectly groomed carving slopes spread across the mountain. Beginners are also very well catered for thanks to the excellent Angertal learning area, while advanced skiers can head towards the steeper terrain around Stubnerkogel and nearby Sportgastein. One of the resort’s biggest attractions is the combination of skiing and wellness — after a day on the slopes, visitors can relax in the famous Alpentherme spa complex, making Bad Hofgastein a fantastic destination for both active ski holidays and more laid-back winter escapes.
