Schlick 2000 Piste Map and Overview

Nestled in the stunning Stubai Valley near Innsbruck, Schlick 2000 is one of Austria’s hidden gems for skiers and snowboarders who want incredible mountain scenery without the overwhelming crowds of the mega-resorts. The resort combines wide-open panoramic cruising runs with tree-lined descents, making every run feel scenic and relaxed. Snowboarders especially love the natural terrain features and freeride-friendly sections around the Kalkkögel peaks, while skiers appreciate how easy it is to navigate the mountain in a single day. Despite being smaller than nearby glacier resorts, Schlick 2000 punches far above its weight thanks to its modern lifts, reliable snowmaking, and laid-back Alpine atmosphere.

What really makes Schlick 2000 stand out is its versatility. Beginners can learn comfortably on gentle blue pistes and dedicated learner areas, while intermediate riders get a fantastic mix of flowing red runs and scenic cruising terrain. More advanced skiers and snowboarders can tackle the steeper black sections like the Sennjoch run or explore freeride areas after fresh snowfall. Families also love the resort because everything feels accessible and manageable — there’s less time spent traversing and queueing, and more time actually skiing. Add in spectacular views of the Tyrolean Alps and quick access from Innsbruck Airport, and Schlick 2000 becomes one of the best all-around ski and snowboard destinations for a relaxed but memorable mountain trip

Ski Season Length and Dates

The typical ski season at Schlick 2000 runs from late November through mid-April, depending on snowfall conditions. The north-facing slopes and extensive snowmaking help maintain solid conditions throughout the winter.

Is it good for beginners?

Yes — Schlick 2000 is considered very beginner-friendly, especially compared to many steeper Alpine resorts. There are wide blue pistes, dedicated children’s zones, magic carpets, ski schools, and learner-friendly terrain near the mid-station. Many visitors describe it as ideal for families and improving intermediates. That said, some complete first-timers may still find certain Alpine blue runs steeper than expected, so lessons are highly recommended for confidence-building.
