Muttereralm Piste Map and Overview
Muttereralm is often described as one of Innsbruck’s most welcoming ski areas because it combines easy access, relaxed terrain, and a genuinely friendly atmosphere just minutes from the city. Instead of being overwhelming or overly large, it gives you a compact but beautifully varied mountain where beginners can learn comfortably while intermediates still find plenty of flowing red runs and scenic forest pistes. The tree-lined Götzens descent in particular is a highlight—long, peaceful, and perfect for building confidence while still feeling like a proper alpine adventure.
It’s also a strong choice for snowboarders thanks to its mix of wide carving slopes, a small snowpark, and terrain that rarely feels crowded. The resort is designed around families and progression, meaning you can spend the morning practicing in gentle zones and the afternoon cruising longer runs with views over Innsbruck. With modern lift access and everything close together, it’s the kind of place where you spend more time riding and less time navigating logistics.

Is it good for beginners?
Yes — this is one of its biggest strengths.
- Dedicated beginner “Kinderland” area at the top station
- Wide blue slopes designed for first turns and confidence building
- Magic carpet lifts for total beginners
- Gentle valley runs that let learners progress naturally without steep pressure
- Excellent ski school and rental facilities on-site
It’s especially good for people who want a stress-free first ski experience without long, intimidating descents.
What’s included in the Ski Pass?
- Access to all lifts and pistes within the Muttereralm ski area
- Entry to beginner zones, Kinderland, and snowpark areas
- Use of gondolas, chairlifts, drag lifts, and magic carpets
- Access to sledging/toboggan runs within the resort area
- Access to marked ski touring routes (during operating times)
Does it include multiple resorts?
Not by default.
However, Muttereralm is part of larger regional systems:
- SKI plus CITY Pass Stubai Innsbruck (multi-resort pass covering several ski areas around Innsbruck)
This can include multiple resorts such as:
- Stubai Glacier
- Axamer Lizum
- Patscherkofel
- Nordkette (Innsbruck)
- Schlick 2000
- Others in the Innsbruck region
Are there cheaper or partial pass options?
Yes:
- Muttereralm-only day passes → cheapest option, just the local resort
- Regional passes (SKI plus CITY / Snow Card Tirol) → more expensive but cover many resorts
- Some Innsbruck-area passes allow “single resort” or “select resort” days, depending on the ticket type and season
So you don’t have to buy the full multi-resort pass unless you plan to ski across the region. Most visitors happily stick with the local pass if they’re based only at Muttereralm.
