Christlum – Achenkirch Piste Map and Overview

Christlum in Achenkirch is one of the most underrated ski areas around Lake Achensee, offering a relaxed, family-friendly alternative to Austria’s larger and busier resorts. Set between the Karwendel and Rofan mountains, it combines scenic alpine views with well-groomed slopes and a surprisingly varied ski area for its size. With reliable snowmaking and a sheltered position, it’s known for being both snow-sure and peaceful, making it ideal for skiers who prefer uncrowded pistes and a more local, authentic Tyrolean experience.

Despite being compact, Christlum still delivers plenty of variety for skiers and snowboarders. Beginners benefit from dedicated practice areas and gentle nursery slopes, while intermediates can enjoy long cruising descents through forested terrain. More advanced skiers aren’t left out either, with steeper runs like the Gföllalmgraben and scenic valley descents offering a proper challenge. Snowboarders will also find natural flow across the mountain and a small fun park setup for freestyle practice, making it a well-rounded but uncrowded option in the Achensee region.

Is it good for beginners?

Yes — Christlum is very good for beginners. It has dedicated practice lifts, ski school areas, and gentle wide pistes that make learning straightforward and low-stress. The resort is particularly popular with families because everything is close together and the slopes are not overwhelming in size or difficulty. Once confident, beginners can quickly progress onto longer blue and easy red runs without needing to change resorts.

These are not typically included unless you have a regional or specialty pass.
