Patscherkofel Piste Map and Overview
Patscherkofel is Innsbruck’s iconic “Olympic mountain,” and that alone gives it a special feel you don’t get at many smaller resorts. It’s just minutes from the city, yet once you’re on the slopes it feels like a proper alpine escape with wide-open views over Innsbruck and the Inn Valley. The layout is simple and intuitive, which makes it incredibly appealing if you want a relaxed ski day without constantly checking maps or worrying about complex lift networks.
What really makes it stand out is its balance: plenty of gentle cruising terrain for beginners and intermediates, mixed with historic race slopes like the Olympia run for those wanting a bit more challenge. Snow reliability is helped by extensive snowmaking, and the long valley descents give it that satisfying “full mountain run” feeling even though the area itself is compact. It’s a classic Innsbruck experience – easy access, big scenery, and a calm, local vibe rather than a crowded mega-resort.

Ski Season Length and Dates
Typically early December to early April (approx. 6 Dec – 6 Apr) depending on snow conditions.
Is it good for beginners?
Yes — this is one of the strongest beginner-friendly mountains around Innsbruck.
- Large, well-designed beginner areas at the base and mid-station
- Dedicated Kinderland learning zones
- Gentle blue runs that link naturally into longer descents
- Easy progression from practice slopes to full valley runs
- Ski school, rental, and beginner lifts all close together
It’s especially good for nervous beginners who want space to learn without feeling overwhelmed, while still being on a “proper mountain” with big scenery.
What’s included in the Ski Pass?
- Full access to all lifts and pistes in the Patscherkofel ski area
- Use of gondola + all practice lifts and beginner zones
- Access to snowpark (freestyle area at altitude)
- Access to marked ski touring routes (during operating times)
- Use of valley and mountain descent routes
Does it include multiple resorts?
Not with the standard pass.
However, Patscherkofel is part of the wider Innsbruck ski network:
- SKI plus CITY Pass Innsbruck–Stubai (multi-resort option) includes areas such as:
- Stubai Glacier
- Axamer Lizum
- Schlick 2000
- Muttereralm
- Nordkette
- Patscherkofel itself
Are there cheaper / partial options?
Yes:
- Patscherkofel-only ticket → cheapest option, ideal for a single resort day
- Hourly / half-day tickets → useful for short sessions or beginners
- Multi-resort passes (SKI plus CITY / regional passes) → more expensive but unlock multiple ski areas
- You can absolutely just ski Patscherkofel alone without committing to the full regional pass
So unless you’re planning to move between multiple resorts in a trip, the single-resort pass is usually the most sensible choice.
