Elfer Neustift Piste Map and Overview
Elfer in Neustift is a small, scenic ski area in the Stubai Valley that’s best known for its dramatic alpine setting, relaxed atmosphere, and incredible views of the Stubai Alps. Rather than being a large kilometre-heavy resort, Elfer focuses on quality over quantity, offering peaceful slopes above the village of Neustift with a strong local feel. It’s especially popular with skiers who want a quiet alternative to the nearby Stubai Glacier, as well as visitors looking for short ski days combined with winter hiking, sledging, or paragliding.
The skiing itself is limited but enjoyable, with a mix of gentle runs for beginners and a few steeper red descents for more confident skiers. Snowboarders will find natural, flowing terrain rather than freestyle parks, making it more suited to relaxed carving than technical riding. Elfer is also famous for its long toboggan run — one of the most enjoyable in Tyrol — and its sunset skiing sessions, which give the mountain a unique evening atmosphere. While it’s not a destination for big ski holidays, it’s an excellent add-on to a Stubai Valley trip or a peaceful day on the snow.

Ski Season Length and Dates
Elfer typically runs from early December to mid-March, depending on snow conditions. Because it is a relatively low snow-reliant local ski area (compared to glaciers nearby), the season can vary more year to year. However, it is well supported by snowmaking on key pistes.
Is it good for beginners?
Yes — but mainly for absolute beginners or very relaxed progression. The slopes are gentle and uncrowded, making it a stress-free place to learn skiing or snowboarding basics. However, because the ski area is very small, beginners will eventually outgrow it quickly and usually move on to larger nearby resorts like the Stubai Glacier for more variety.
What’s included in the Ski Pass?

- Use of gondola and drag lifts

Does it include multiple resorts?
No — the standard Elfer pass is only valid for the Elfer ski area.
However, nearby Stubai Valley ski areas operate separately, including:
- Stubai Glacier (major ski resort)
- Schlick 2000 (Fulpmes)
- Serlesbahnen (Mieders, small family area)
These are not included unless you buy a regional pass.
Are cheaper ski passes available?
Yes — Elfer is one of the most flexible and budget-friendly ski areas in the region:
- Single-day Elfer-only passes
- Half-day tickets
- Beginner slope passes
- Toboggan-only tickets (very popular)
- Multi-day discounts for short stays
- Optional upgrade passes for Stubai Valley ski areas
Most visitors simply buy an Elfer-only ticket because the area is small, easy to cover, and ideal for a relaxed half-day or full-day outing.
