Fulpmes Piste Map and Overview

Nestled in the beautiful Stubai Valley, Fulpmes is home to the family-friendly Schlick 2000 ski area, one of Tyrol’s most underrated mountain destinations. While many visitors head straight for the nearby Stubai Glacier, Schlick 2000 offers a more relaxed and authentic Austrian ski experience, with stunning views of the dramatic Kalkkögel peaks, uncrowded slopes, and a welcoming atmosphere. The resort combines excellent piste grooming with a traditional alpine feel, making it ideal for families, beginners, and intermediate skiers who want high-quality skiing without the crowds often found at larger resorts.

For skiers and snowboarders, Schlick 2000 delivers a surprisingly varied mountain. Wide blue runs and scenic cruising pistes dominate the terrain, while several steeper black runs and freeride areas provide challenges for advanced riders. The resort is particularly popular with families thanks to BIG Ron’s Kinderland, dedicated learning areas, and an easy-to-navigate lift system. Community feedback often highlights the excellent scenery, reliable snow conditions, and relaxed atmosphere, making it a favourite alternative to the larger glacier ski areas nearby.

Ski Season Length and Dates

The Schlick 2000 ski area typically operates from early December through early April, with good snow reliability thanks to its sheltered location and extensive snowmaking coverage. Around 90% of the slopes are supported by snowmaking, helping maintain quality conditions throughout the winter season.

Is it good for beginners?

Yes — Schlick 2000 is one of the best beginner-friendly ski areas in the Stubai Valley.

  • Large proportion of easy blue runs
  • Dedicated children’s learning area (BIG Ron’s Kinderland)
  • Gentle progression terrain for improving skiers
  • Excellent ski schools and family facilities
  • Wide panoramic slopes with relatively low crowd levels

While advanced skiers will find some challenging black runs and freeride terrain, the resort’s real strength lies in helping beginners and intermediates build confidence in a scenic alpine setting.

What’s included in the Ski Pass?

A standard Schlick 2000 ski pass includes:

  • Access to all lifts within the Schlick 2000 ski area
  • Use of the Kreuzjochbahn gondola system
  • Access to all marked blue, red, and black pistes
  • Entry to BIG Ron’s Kinderland and beginner zones
  • Access to ski routes and freeride areas within the resort
  • Use of family and learning facilities
  • Access to the snowpark and fun features

Does it include multiple resorts?

The standard Schlick 2000 pass covers only Schlick 2000.

However, visitors can upgrade to the Stubai Skipass, which includes access to multiple ski areas throughout the Stubai Valley:

  • Schlick 2000
  • Stubai Glacier
  • Elferlifte
  • Serlesbahnen

Together these areas provide approximately 105 km / 65 miles of skiing across the valley.

Are there cheaper ski passes for only part of the area?

Yes.

  • The Schlick 2000 local pass is the cheapest option and covers only the Schlick 2000 ski area.
  • The Stubai Skipass costs more but includes all major Stubai Valley ski areas.
  • You do not need to purchase the full Stubai Skipass if you only plan to ski at Schlick 2000.

This flexibility makes Fulpmes a particularly good choice for families and casual skiers who want excellent value without paying for a larger multi-resort pass.

For visitors seeking a scenic, family-friendly Austrian ski resort with excellent beginner terrain, stunning mountain views, and access to the wider Stubai Valley when desired, Fulpmes and Schlick 2000 are among the best-value ski destinations in Tyrol.
