Les Karellis Piste Map and Overview

Set in the Maurienne Valley in the French Alps, Les Karellis is one of those rare ski resorts that quietly delivers everything you need without the crowds, high prices, or complexity of larger destinations. Sitting between 1,600 m and 2,520 m, it offers reliable snow conditions thanks to its north-facing slopes and high-altitude terrain, with most of the ski area sitting above 2,000 m. That combination makes it a surprisingly snow-sure and stress-free place to ski, especially for families and relaxed holidaymakers.

What makes Les Karellis stand out is its simplicity and accessibility. With around 60 km of pistes and a layout designed to be easy to navigate, you spend more time skiing and less time queuing or planning routes. The resort is compact, car-free, and famously “all-in-one,” meaning accommodation, lifts, and services are all tightly connected. It’s a great choice if you want a friendly, affordable resort where everything just works – and where beginners and intermediates can build confidence on wide, uncrowded slopes.

Is it good for beginners?

Yes – Les Karellis is very beginner-friendly. It has a free and dedicated beginner zone right in the resort, gentle green runs, and simple lift access that makes learning stress-free. The compact layout also means beginners never feel far from accommodation or help, and ski schools are well integrated into the village experience. As you improve, you can easily progress into longer blue and red runs without needing to change resorts.

What’s included in the Ski Pass?

Here’s what the ski pass typically includes in Les Karellis:

  • Access to the full Les Karellis ski area (~60 km of pistes)
  • Use of all ski lifts across the resort (chairlifts + drag lifts)
  • Access to:
    • Alpine ski slopes (all difficulty levels)
    • Beginner zones and learning areas
    • Snow park / boardercross areas
  • Access to the entire compact resort layout (no separate ski sectors needed)
  • Easy access between village accommodation and slopes (ski-in/ski-out style setup in many places)

Does it include multiple resorts?

  • No—Les Karellis is a standalone ski area
  • It is not linked to a larger ski domain like Les Trois Vallées or Espace San Bernardo

Are there cheaper ski passes or smaller area options?

  • Yes:
    • Beginner and pedestrian-friendly access options (limited use / reduced areas)
    • Short-duration passes (1–6 days etc.)
  • But unlike large interconnected resorts, there is no “multi-resort upgrade” system—you’re essentially choosing access within the same single ski area rather than between different mountains
