Ascutney Mountain Piste Map and Overview

Ascutney Mountain is beloved by skiers for its classic New England charm and true mountain feel. Nestled on the rugged northwest face of Mount Ascutney, the area offers a steep 1,800 ft vertical drop that provides thrilling terrain for intermediate and advanced skiers, while still maintaining family-friendly zones. With a variety of 56 runs served by a mix of lift types – including a high-speed quad and triple chairs – skiers enjoy a balanced experience of fast lifts, diverse trails, and plenty of snowmaking (covering around 95% of terrain). Though the resort closed in 2010, its community-led revival under Ascutney Outdoors brings back a beloved local gem where both seasoned locals and visitors appreciate its intimate size, manageable crowds, and scenic beauty.

The mountain’s position rising abruptly from the valley offers stunning panoramic views of the Connecticut River Valley and beyond, making every run visually rewarding. The legacy of the resort and the dedication of local stewards fosters a vibrant community atmosphere – where ski lessons, family programs, and holiday events reflect a warm, welcoming energy. Whether carving long cruisers, tackling chutes, or exploring the terrain park, Ascutney delivers a genuine Vermont skiing experience – steeped in tradition yet refreshed through modern stewardship.
