The United States (USA) is an excellent dstination for skiing and snowboarding. With vast differences in Geography – and the ever present battle between East Coast and West Coast for the best snow conditions, you will never be bored!

The country is home to some of the most renowned skiing destinations globally, including Aspen, Vail, and Jackson Hole. The diverse landscapes allow for varying difficulty leveles, making the USA a perfectd estination for the beginners and advanced members of your ski squad.

Which is better for skiing – East Coast vs West Coast?

Terrain: The West Coast is known for its expansive, challenging terrain, with steep slopes and deep powder. In contrast, the East Coast offers a mix of groomed trails, glades, and often smaller hills.

Snow Quality: Western resorts typically receive more abundant and drier snow, creating ideal conditions for powder hounds. The East Coast, while having reliable snowmaking capabilities, may experience icier conditions. Hang around the ski scene long enough and you will hear all about the East Coast “powder days” (They don’t exist).

Scenery: The breathtaking vistas of the Rockies characterize the West Coast, while the East Coast offers a more intimate, wooded landscape.

Interestingly (and somewhat controversially) the USA has two major players rolling up Ski Resorts into season passes: The Ikon Pass and Epic Pass. Both passes offer unique advantages, and the choice ultimately depends on individual preferences, travel plans, and preferred resort destinations.
