Geilo Piste Map and Overview

Geilo is one of Norway’s most iconic ski destinations — steeped in history as the oldest ski resort in the country and still beloved today for its blend of friendly atmosphere, varied terrain, and reliable snow conditions. Straddling both sides of the Hallingdal Valley, the slopes rise amid classic Norwegian mountain scenery, giving you beautiful panoramic views whether you’re cruising gentle blue runs or exploring steeper pitches. With well‑groomed pistes, efficient lifts, and a layout that keeps everything easily accessible (including a free ski bus between sectors), Geilo delivers a wonderfully relaxed ski and snowboard experience for families, beginners and intermediates alike.

What really makes Geilo special is how welcoming and versatile it feels. The resort has a good mix of terrain — plenty of wide, gentle slopes perfect for learning and improving your technique, plus some more challenging sections and three terrain parks for riders who want freestyle fun. Add to that great ski school options, children’s areas, and a vibrant town with plenty of après‑ski and off‑slope activities (from cross‑country trails to dog sledding), and you have a resort that’s enjoyable whether you’re here for your first ski holiday or returning year after year.
