Sexten (Sesto) is the main mountain village at the heart of the Three Peaks Dolomites, and it’s one of the best all-round bases for exploring the entire ski region. Surrounded by the dramatic peaks of the Dolomites, it offers immediate access to major ski areas like Helm, Stiergarten, and Rotwand. The village itself has a warm, traditional Alpine feel, making it a great place to stay if you want skiing right on your doorstep.
What makes Sexten especially appealing is its balance of convenience and variety. From here, you can easily reach high-altitude skiing within minutes, yet still return to a quiet, charming village at the end of the day. It works well for all ability levels, from beginners learning on gentle valley slopes to advanced skiers using it as a launch point into longer, more challenging runs across the region.

Yes – Sexten is very beginner-friendly. While the village itself is more of a base, nearby gentle slopes and excellent ski schools make it a great starting point for new skiers and snowboarders.
