Risoul Piste Map and Overview

Set in the Southern French Alps, Risoul is part of the expansive Forêt Blanche ski area, sharing terrain with Vars to create one of the larger ski domains in the region. Sitting at around 1,850 m in resort altitude and reaching up to 2,750 m, it offers a strong mix of altitude and sunshine – meaning reliable snow conditions alongside that classic bright Southern Alps weather. The surrounding larch forests also give the resort a scenic, sheltered feel, making it especially enjoyable on snowy or low-visibility days.

What makes Risoul particularly appealing is its combination of scale and accessibility. With around 180 km of linked pistes, it offers far more variety than a typical mid-sized resort, yet still keeps a relaxed, village-style layout where you can ski back close to accommodation. The terrain is well balanced for all levels, with wide beginner zones, long cruising blues, and plenty of reds for progression – plus direct access into Vars for even more variety. It’s a great choice if you want a big ski area without the intensity of the biggest Alpine resorts.
