Pralognan-la-Vanoise Piste Map and Overview
Set deep in the Tarentaise Valley at the gateway to the Vanoise National Park, Pralognan-la-Vanoise is a rare kind of ski resort – authentic, peaceful, and surrounded by truly wild Alpine scenery. Unlike the nearby mega-resorts, it remains unconnected and traditional, meaning you ski in a preserved natural environment with views of glaciers and peaks like the Grande Casse. This setting not only makes it incredibly scenic, but also helps deliver excellent natural snowfall and a more relaxed, crowd-free experience.
What really makes Pralognan special is its balance of simplicity and variety. While the ski area is smaller, it offers a well-rounded mix of slopes for all abilities, from gentle beginner runs to steeper reds and blacks, plus some excellent off-piste opportunities. The village atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, with a strong focus on families and nature lovers rather than après-ski crowds. It’s the kind of place where you trade size for quality – more time skiing, less time queuing, and a genuinely authentic Alpine feel.
