Pitztal Piste Map and Overview

Pitztal is one of Austria’s most snow‑sure and scenic ski and snowboard destinations, anchored by the Pitztal Glacier — the highest glacier ski area in Tirol with lifts reaching up to 3,440 m / 11,286 ft — and the neighbouring Rifflsee slopes for variety and learning terrain. The glacier offers long, panoramic runs with excellent snow coverage thanks to its altitude, and combined with Rifflsee’s welcome mix of gentle slopes and scenic views, you get a diverse day on the snow that caters to different skills and styles. Snowboarders also benefit from parks and freeride zones, while the dramatic high‑alpine setting makes every run feel epic.

What makes Pitztal extra special is its extended ski season and year‑round appeal. Thanks to glacial terrain, skiing often runs from early autumn into May, long after many other resorts have closed, and the connection between Pitztal Glacier and Rifflsee with one ski pass means you can enjoy both high alpine challenges and more sheltered slopes in one trip. Families and groups appreciate the variety — from long red cruisers and snow‑sure carving to easy blues and children’s areas — all served by a comfortable, modern lift network that gets you up and exploring quickly.

Ski Season Length and Dates

Pitztal Glacier & Rifflsee typically operates late September through early May (e.g., around 27 Sep  – 3 May ).

Is it good for beginners?

While the glacier slopes are ideal for intermediates and experienced riders, Rifflsee offers gentler terrain and practice areas that are great for beginners and those building confidence on skis or a board.

What’s included in the Ski Pass?

  • Access to the Pitztal Glacier ski area, including lifts up to the high‑alpine glacier terrain at 3,440 m.
  • Access to the Rifflsee ski area, with a variety of runs and easier slopes included in the same pass.
  • Modern lift network with gondolas, chairlifts, funicular and surface lifts connecting the main zones.
  • Snow park and freeride areas suitable for snowboarders and adventurous skiers.
  • Children’s skiing and beginner zones, especially around Rifflsee base.

Does it include multiple resorts?

The standard Pitztal ski pass covers both the Pitztal Glacier and Rifflsee areas with one ticket, so you can enjoy both sectors without needing separate passes

Are there options for cheaper ski passes?

Most visitors use the combined Pitztal Glacier & Rifflsee pass since it covers the full connected terrain. However, short‑stay or single‑area tickets might be available for just one of the two zones, but combining them generally gives better value and variety on the slopes.
