Hochkar, located in the Ybbstal Alps of Lower Austria, is the region’s highest and most snow-reliable ski resort, offering a diverse range of slopes suitable for all skill levels. Just a two-hour drive from Vienna, it provides a convenient alpine escape with 19.2 km (11.9 miles) of well-maintained pistes. The resort’s elevation, ranging from 1,380 m (4,528 ft) to 1,808 m (5,931 ft), ensures consistent snow conditions throughout the season, typically running from early December to early April.

Hochkar caters to a wide audience, from beginners to advanced skiers and snowboarders. The terrain is divided into 5.5 km (3.4 miles) of easy slopes, 10.8 km (6.7 miles) of intermediate runs, and 2.8 km (1.7 miles) of challenging trails, making it an ideal destination for families and thrill-seekers alike. Beyond the slopes, visitors can enjoy a range of activities, including snow parks, off-piste areas, and panoramic views from the summit.
