Purnu Piste Map and Overview
Purnuvuori (often called “Purnu”) is a small, family-friendly ski centre in Hartola, Southern Finland. It’s especially good for beginners, families, or anyone looking for short, relaxed days on gentle terrain without the logisitical load of big resorts. With just one T-bar lift, a handful of slopes, and everything pretty close together, it’s a low-stress place: fewer lines, simpler transport, and a more laid-back vibe. Because of its modest vertical drop (~100 m) and manageable layout, it’s ideal for learning, practising, or just enjoying skiing in a more tranquil environment rather than chasing altitude or vast off-piste terrain.
Purnuvuori also has the advantage of being accessible: you don’t need to travel far or stay in complicated resorts to ski there. Its smaller size means less worry about grooming, but also less exposure to harsh weather; on good days the views and snow can be very nice. It’s a good “local hill” for quick ski getaways or for combining skiing with other winter activities in the region.
