Uzana is a charming, low-key winter destination set amidst sprawling meadows and venerable oak forests near Gabrovo, offering a serene escape for skiers and nature lovers alike. With slopes stretching just 3 km in total, it’s an ideal spot for beginners, families, or anyone seeking a relaxed, scenic outing rather than a high-speed alpine adventure. There are 10 lifts for guests to use.
Situated on the northern slopes of the Stara Planina (Balkan Mountains) between about 1,220 m and 1,350 m in elevation, the resort promises gentle terrain surrounded by tranquil, natural beauty. Its location in the heart of Bulgarka Nature Park also makes it perfect for combining skiing with cultural and ecological experiences – think winter hiking, visits to the Etar Open-Air Museum, and exploring serene oak forests.
