Hunter Mountain Piste Map and Overview

Hunter Mountain, located in the Catskill Mountains of New York, is a standout destination often dubbed the “snowmaking capital of the world.” From its top‑to‑bottom snowmaking system – pioneered in New York – to its reliable base coverage, Hunter ensures consistent ski conditions even when natural snow is sparse. With three distinct faces – Hunter One, Hunter Mountain proper, and Hunter West – the resort offers diverse terrain ranging from wide green cruisers to technical double-black boulevards. It’s particularly favored by advanced skiers for steep trails like Hellgate and Racer’s Edge, but remains approachable with dedicated beginner zones including the Learning Center and carpet lifts. Being part of the Epic Pass network also makes it easily accessible for multi-resort pass holders.

Hunter also benefits from excellent lift infrastructure – 13 lifts including the high‑speed Kaatskill Flyer six-pack and Northern Express ensure quick access to terrain and minimal lift lines. Its proximity to New York City (about a 2.5–3 hour drive) and the surrounding village of Hunter and Tannersville make it a full-package getaway with lodging, après-ski dining, and family-friendly winter tubing.
