Hickory Piste Map and Overview
Hickory Ski Center is a charming, old‑school ski hill nestled in the scenic Adirondack Mountains of New York, just about an hour from Albany. It’s known for its vintage surface lifts (Poma, T‑bar, platter), a friendly family‑oriented vibe, and affordable access via the Indy Pass. With a vertical drop of 1,200 ft, including steep black‑diamond terrain near the summit and groomed runs lower down, it offers surprisingly varied terrain for a smaller hills. Its compact scale makes it a great spot for beginners and intermediates to build confidence – plus regulars emphasize its tight-knit local culture and nostalgic ambiance.
True to its retro roots, Hickory features only four surface lifts and roughly 18–19 marked trails spread across about 225 acres, which translates to approximately 8 km of total slope length – or about 5 miles of skiing. It doesn’t boast high-tech grooming or snowmaking, but when natural snow falls, it delivers a lively, community‑driven ski experience that many larger resorts don’t provide.
