Whaleback Piste Map and Overview

Whaleback Ski Area in Enfield, NH is a small yet spirited community mountain that appeals to families, learners, and those looking for an unpretentious ski experience. Operated as a nonprofit by the Upper Valley Snow Sports Foundation, it delivers a welcoming atmosphere with affordable lift tickets, volunteer-driven events, and a tight-knit vibe that contrasts sharply with large commercial resorts. Despite its modest size, Whaleback offers diverse terrain across its 30 trails, including a terrain park, glades, and night skiing – minutes from the Dartmouth area, making it a convenient and charming local option.

The mountain’s infrastructure may be smaller in scale, but quality shows in its thoughtful offerings: reliable snowmaking covers about 60–80% of the terrain, grooming keeps runs smooth, and the Poma double lifts skiers from a compact yet enjoyable base that encourages multiple laps. With 700 ft of vertical drop, a mile-long longest run, and about 110 inches of annual snowfall, Whaleback packs exactly the right amount of tubing, terrain, and character for independent-spirited skiers.
