Harrachov, located in the Krkonoše (Giant Mountains) of the Czech Republic, is a popular ski resort that caters to a wide range of winter sports enthusiasts. The resort features 8 km (5.0 miles) of well-maintained slopes, suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers. The ski area spans elevations from 650 m (2,133 ft) to 1,020 m (3,346 ft), offering a vertical drop of 370 m (1,213 ft). The resort is equipped with five lifts, including two four-seat chairlifts and three ski lifts, ensuring efficient access to the slopes. Night skiing is also available on the Cervena II ski run, extending the skiing experience into the evening hours.
In addition to alpine skiing, Harrachov is renowned for its extensive cross-country skiing opportunities. The area boasts professional cross-country skiing tracks of 2 x 7.5 km and over 104 km (65 miles) of tourist cross-country tracks in the surrounding region. The resort’s location within the Giant Mountain National Park provides a picturesque setting, with trails that cater to both classic and skate skiing styles. Furthermore, Harrachov is home to the internationally recognized Čerťák ski jumping hill, hosting various winter sports events regularly.
